I envision a church

I envision a church that is culturally relevant, yet teaches expository sermons that engage both young and old.  I have been in youth ministry for about 15 years and have been an Associate Pastor for the last six.  I am just starting to pursue this vision to see where God will lead.

This is my fleece (Judges 6:37-40).  I am asking God to affirm or negate this direction.  God if this is of you, please send me an volunteer Administrative Assistant and fifty people who feel called to pursure with me your will.

If God leads my wife and I to start a new church, future entries will include a mission statement and a theological statement.

Those who are God's people

The heads of the families, those who are God's people, everyone whose spirit God had stirred- get ready to go up and build a place of worship in Fredericksburg.  All their neighbors aided them...

As I was reading scripture today I came across Ezra 1:5.  I offer the above personalized rendering to God in faith.

Here is the actual verse in N.I.V.

"Then the family heads of Judah and Benjamin, and the priests and Levites—everyone whose heart God had moved—prepared to go up and build the house of the LORD in Jerusalem. All their neighbors assisted them..."                                                Ezra 1:5-6b

My Passion

To glorify Christ with my life serving as a pastor, teaching preaching, leading and investing my life in the mission Christ left the church to make disciples; to be used by God to lead people to salvation in Christ and then to establish them in their faith and equip them for ministry.
